arole never fully realized that there were others just like her with relatives and friends suffering from autism. That is until she enrolled in the Lay Ministry program at the Diocese of Saginaw. Much to her surprise, there were four others going through the same program that had relationships with people dealing with autism.  After becoming a Lay Minister, Carole found ways to reach out to new mothers, especially those of children with special needs.

iguel, a 46 year old man from El Salvador was married to a U.S. citizen and working with Hispanic Ministries at the Diocese of Saginaw to get his immigration papers. While in this process, Miguel was killed in a hit-and-run accident. His wife and son were devastated not only because they saw the accident, but because the funeral home refused to bury him until they got paid. Hispanic Ministries, with the help of Diocesan cemeteries contacted organizations that were able to help complete the final arrangements and ease the family’s burdens.

The CENTER FOR MINISTRY is a versatile building that serves the diverse needs of many groups throughout the area, as well as hosting events very important to parish life. The meeting rooms have been host to conferences and seminars, marriage and engaged encounters, and provided educational opportunities that support and strengthen formation and spirituality out in the parishes.
The Church Ministries Office provides proper education of men and women called to serve through Lay ministry, as well as offering ministry to priests, pastoral administrators, religious and others in need of such services.
The Office of Education/Formation offers leadership development for parishes and schools. The programs reach from support and development of Catholic schools and teachers, to religious education and youth ministry. These services are delivered out into clusters and vicariates, thus saving valuable time for parish volunteers.
• Catholic Family Service is widely known for its support and strengthening of families.
• The Copy and Postal Center assists parishes with copy and mailing services, as well as teacher and classroom materials.
• The Liturgy Department provides resources to parishes for beautiful music and services.
• CSA supports many additional services that affect parishes almost on a daily basis. For example, the Diocesan Tribunal, Communication and technical assistance are a few of the many other services provided from Diocesan Offices to support the faith family out in the Parishes.
The Catholic Services Appeal is about the ministry and service of the Diocese of Saginaw.  In every way the ministries sponsored by CSA strive to bring individuals, couples and families close to Christ.  Each CSA sponsored effort is designed to empower people to grow in faith and understanding. I ask you to join me, your new bishop, in supporting the Church of the Diocese of Saginaw.

Why does your parish conduct the CSA?
All parishes join together to produce a variety of services that no single parish can easily provide. An assessment is made to each parish to support these Diocesan Offices. The Catholic Services Appeal is conducted to assist pastors and parishes in raising the money to cover the assessment.
How does my gift to CSA help my parish meet its assessment?
For every dollar donated to the CSA by a parishioner, the parish’s assessment is reduced, thereby permitting the parish to retain more of the weekly collection for its own needs.
What if my parish raises more than is needed for its assessment?
All money contributed to your parish through the GSA over its annual assessment is returned 100% to your parish.
Where can I get up-to-date information on the Diocese of Saginaw, its parishes and schools?
You can visit the Diocese of Saginaw’s website for news, a calendar of events, links to parish websites, and other information. Or you can call the offices at 989-799-7910.
“Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
(2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
