A group of parishioners whose purpose is to serve as a visionary arm of the parish. They assist and support the Pastoral Team. They are deeply involved in the parish, its life and activities. They attempt to create an environment for community gatherings that are for spiritual basis and community building. They meet every other month on Saturday morning in the rectory meeting room and their agenda includes updates on commission meetings, calendar items that are planned, and ways they can make people of this parish feel part of the family.

The purpose of this commission is to educate parishioners about and involve them in service to one another and to the larger communities of the city, state, nation and the world. It is concerned with meeting the needs of the poor by doing activities like the giving tree and the Thanksgiving food drive. St. Helen Group

A social group comprised of women of any age who likes potlucks and lively conversation. Once a year the group stages a Christmas bazaar. With the proceeds, the group makes purchases for the school, rectory, and church. There are no dues, just a pleasant couple of hours once a month with great food.

Ushers Club

Any parishioner/family wishing to be part of this ministry can do so. It means coming early to mass and being at the doors of the church to distribute the worship aids, with a smile, to those entering. Ushers also take up the collection. If you are interested in having your family do this one Sunday a month, please call our office at 793-0618 and let us know!

First Reconciliation

Catechesis about reconciliation is a necessary part of formation. Parents determine the readiness of their children for this sacrament, which usually take place in the fourth grade. If your child has not received this sacrament and is older than 11, contact our rectory office at 793-0618.




Marriage

Catholics consider marriage between baptized persons to be a sacrament — a unique and visible sign in today’s world of Christ’s presence and of God’s love. Marriage is a covenant wherein the parties to the covenant pledge lasting faithfulness, total permanence, and continuing fruitfulness. You must contact the parish at least 6 months in advance and before making any plans. Preparation is necessary for this sacrament. Meeting with Father is an important part of this process. Communion Ministries to those in Rest Homes or Homebound

Those who can, are asked to visit a small group of older parishioners and share conversation, bring communion and deliver greeting cards (from our children in the parish). These visits are once a month. If you are interested in this ministry, contact our rectory office at 793-0618.




Prayer Line

A network of people who call one another and pray for various intentions. If you have an intention that you would like people to pray for call: 792-0719 or 799-9235.




Funeral Dinners

Dinners following registered parishioners’ funerals will be prepared and served by members of this committee at no charge. There are several groups who rotate with this. If you are interested in helping them, call the rectory for a contact person. Any cost for food, beverages, etc. is the responsibility of the family.
